Tutorial
Compound for iPhone · Jaceal LLC
The first time you open Compound, a short four-screen tour shows you the basics. This page walks through the same four steps.
1. Plan by person
Add a person, then their accounts: Roth IRA, pre-tax 401(k) or brokerage.
- Scenarios live under the account they belong to: a Roth IRA, a pre-tax 401(k) or a brokerage account.
- Compound Pro adds folders if you want to organize your plans further.
2. Set your assumptions
Enter contributions, fees and tax rates.
- Set the account type, the fee, the contribution and an escalating contribution.
- Use tax rates that match your own situation. Compound uses the rates you enter.
- Every figure is an estimate built from your own inputs.
3. See what’s spendable
Totals separate the balance, the estimated tax on withdrawal and what’s spendable.
- The balance is what the account shows on paper. The tax is what you would owe when you withdraw. Spendable is what is left.
- Compound Pro adds the “Will it last?” retirement stress test and strategies.
- Estimates only. Compound is not financial advice.
4. Yours, on your phone
Share a plan as a file or back it up. Nothing is uploaded.
- Share a person’s whole plan as a file, including the fee, escalating contribution, account type and tax rates.
- Back up and restore to a file from Settings. You choose where the file goes.
