What is Compound?
Compound is an investment growth planner for iPhone. You plan by person, account by account, using your own contributions, fees and tax rates, and it shows the balance on paper, the estimated tax on withdrawal and what is spendable.
How much does Compound cost?
Compound is free to use. Compound Pro is an optional one-time $4.99 in-app purchase that adds folders, strategies and the “Will it last?” retirement stress test.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. You pay once and Pro is unlocked. There is no subscription, nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. Family Sharing is supported.
What does Pro add?
Folders to organize your plans, strategies, and the “Will it last?” retirement stress test. Everything else in Compound is free.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account, no sign-in and no bank linking. Your plans stay on your device.
What data does Compound collect?
Compound has no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and it does not upload your plans. See the privacy policy for the plain-language details.
How do I add a person and their accounts?
Add a person, then add their accounts: Roth IRA, pre-tax 401(k) or brokerage. Each scenario sits under the account it belongs to. The tutorial walks through it.
How do I set my tax rates?
Enter them yourself as part of your assumptions, alongside contributions, escalating contributions and fees. Compound uses the rates you enter, so use ones that fit your own situation.
How do I back up or move to a new phone?
In Settings, use Backup & restore to write your plans to a file. You choose where the file goes, and nothing is uploaded. Restore from that file on your new phone. You can also share one person’s whole plan as a file.
How do I replay the tutorial?
Open Settings and choose Show Tutorial. You can also tap Skip at the top right of any tutorial screen to leave it.
How do refunds work?
Apple processes every purchase, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We never see your payment details and cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves.
How do I contact support?
Email jacealllc@gmail.com and a person will reply. Please include your iPhone model and iOS version, and what you were looking at.
Which devices does it run on?
Compound is an iPhone app. The minimum iOS version is shown on its App Store listing.
Is Compound financial advice?
No. Compound gives estimates from the numbers you enter. It is not financial, tax or investment advice and does not promise any return.
